ABOUT ME

From the young age of 11 years old, my mother decided to teach me how to make spaghetti bolognese, from then, I was hooked! It became something of a routine, cooking dinner for the family in my teen years, while watching the Food network channel in the background - opening up the fridge and rustling up a meal for my family. This is where my love for cooking started, and my ethos is pretty similar today: Simple flavours, perfectly cooked, not interfering with the produce too much and quality over everything. I moved to Cape Town after I finished high school to attend Silwood School of Cookery, where I learnt all the fundamentals of classical French cordon bleu cooking, while working in some of the most acclaimed restaurants in South Africa, such as, The Test kitchen and La Colombe, where I fine-tuned my skills and my passion has only grown from there. Branching out from the classic chef kitchen life, I ventured to the French Alps, in a small ski town called Val D’isere to private chef at a Boutique Lodge for a full season which was a pretty cool experience. Returning home, I had the privilege of working for the most incredible Annalize Buchanan from Annalize Catering for two years, whom I owe a lot with regards to how I look at food these days and we have continued to form a very close and special bond over the years. Jules on Jarvis, East London, is where I successfully opened up and ran two restaurants for three years. Finally, I thought it was time to spread my wings, get out my comfort zone and really push myself. I moved to London in 2021 spending two years there, and was fortunate enough to work in a Michelin Star restaurant called HIDE based in Mayfair. This was an invaluable experience, learning from the best in the world and cooking with some of the most incredible produce the UK has to offer . I always knew that my heart belonged in South Africa and I feel privileged to be back in Cape Town to cook for you : whether its a celebratory dinner, family function or a group of friends getting together to enjoy some damn good food!
